April Coen, is a native Montanan and a former Deputy Clerk of District Court with 12 years of experience in the Flathead County Clerk of District Court office. Along with her knowledge regarding the requirements for double proxy marriage and experience in having issued and processed marriage licenses, April is more than qualified to help guide you through the process. Her priority is to keep you informed every step of the way!

Chris Coen

Co-Owner/Operator and Proxy for Groom

As the son of a retired pastor, Chris has lived in many areas of the United States. While he has now lived in Montana the longest, he spent a large portion of his childhood in Hawaii.  

Chris and April Coen are joint owners of Proxy Marriage / A Big Sky Event. They have been happily married for 17 years and have two beautiful children together.  They are pleased to be able to give back in some small way to the members of the military who risk their lives defending our freedom.

Marty Stuehler

Non-denominational Minister and Consultant

Marty Stuehler may be your first contact with Proxy Marriage / A Big Sky Event. As a non-denominational Minister with over 20 years experience, Marty has officiated at more than 600 weddings. His experience with officiating double proxy marriages and his knowledge regarding the requirements for double proxy marriage are a priceless asset to our organization.

Erik Maldonado

Non-denominational Minister

Erik Maldonado is a non-denominational Minister who is currently officiating the double proxy marriages. He was born in California and moved to Montana with his family when he was young.  Erik has been happily married for 21 years.  He is honored to have the opportunity to provide such a valuable benefit to those who serve with our Armed Forces.

Flathead County

Montana is located in the Northwest region of the United States. It is rich in history and beauty and has been called "The Treasure State," "Big Sky Country," and "The Last Best Place." Montana is currently the only state that allows the provision for double proxy marriage. While in the past, double proxy marriage had been possible for anyone interested, the code was changed and is now only available to those who are currently active in the military or residents of the State of Montana.  If you are ever in our area, be sure to stop by and say, "Hello!"
